In class we watched the movie, we learned a lot about Lifan car company.  Like, three fourths of the metal and parts are imported from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and Maryland.  The Pittsburgh Steelers are not called the Steelers because they steal things its because they made a big steel company there.  China now is the biggest steel manufacture in the world.  A weird fact is nine out of ten people in china that buy cars use cash.

cars

In class we got back our essays.  Evan and I got a 86% which is okay:/  I thought we did better but, we made to many stupid mistakes.  We continued our video and looked at cars in china.  The cars in china are increasing rapidly and it would be a good idea so get rid of them.  I would just make more lanes in the roads.

During class today we watched the video and a big part of it was on the Chinese bought Mal-Mart because the workers in china get paid less than people in the U.S.  In the U.S, we have a minimum wage and in China they don't so they could work for one dollar a day when people in the U.S get pain around eight dollar minimum.  People in china don't care how much they get paid, they only care about getting paid something.  You were saying that your money is kinda voting where you get your food from.  So if you like having less jobs in the U.S , shop at Mal-Mart.

Countries

Germany
On January 18, 1871, Otto von Bismarck, the Minister-President of Prussia, unified independent German states into a nation-state.
Germanic tribes moved further south-west.
They were ruled by the Saxons and Slavs.

India
India became an independent nation in 1947 after a struggle for independence that was marked by non-violent resistance led by Mahatma Gandhi.
Buddha was central to the beginnings of recorded history in India.
the southern peninsula was being ruled by the Cheras, the Cholas, and the Pandyas

Iran
1 April 1979
Hinduism in Iran has a history stretching back to the Middle Ages.
ruled by the ancient Parthians and Sasanids.

Afghanistan gained their independence on 19 August 1919. Before it became independent, it used to be made up of many small tribes. The British occupied Afghanistan 3 separate times but they couldn't keep a hold on it.

The Independence Day of Brazil was officially announced on 7th September 1822. They use be run by the Portuguese.  For ages Brazil has represented the great escape into a prehistoric, tropical heaven, igniting the Western imagination like no other South American country.

France gained their independence on the 14th of July 1789 to commemorate this day.  It used to be ruled by Germany before WWII.

Mexico

Mexico declared independence September 16, 1810 the oldest things in Mexico are stone tools that are 23,000 years ago. Its oldest people are the Aztec. Before they became independent they were captured by the Spanish HernĂĄn CortĂ©s he arrived at the port in Veracruz with ca. 500 conquistadores, and later moved on to the Aztec capital. On his search for gold and other riches, CortĂ©s decided to invade and conquer the Aztec empire killing thousands of people. They were subjects to Spain.

Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has never been colonized, so the independence day is actually the day when the kingdom was created, which celebrated in 23 of September. Apart from a small number of urban trading settlements, such as Mecca and Medina, located in the Hejaz in the west of the Arabian Peninsula, most of what was to become Saudi Arabia was populated by nomadic tribal societies in the inhospitable desert. They have been subjects of another country. A communist party was formed in 1975

Settlement by anatomically modern humans of what was to become the United Kingdom occurred in waves beginning by about 30,000 years ago. By the end of the region's prehistoric period, the population is thought to have belonged, in the main, to a culture termed Insular Celtic, comprising Brythonic Britain and Gaelic Ireland.

Venezuela- It is found in South America. Scientist believe that the earliest sign of Humans in Venezuela was 15,000 years ago. Than in 1522 Spain started to colonize the area. It became part of the Viceroyalty of New Granada. After a series of unsuccessful uprisings, Venezuela was under the leadership of Francisco de Miranda, a Venezuelan soldier who had fought in the American Revolution and the French Revolution declared independence on 5 July 1811. This began the Venezuelan War of Independence. Though right after they got their independence their 1st and 2nd attempts for a government failed. It wasn't until a new General came to the fight, that they finally one their Independence. They were than part of Gran Colombia until that fell, and they formed their own country just after.

Rwonda and Burundi in Africa have two ethnic groups that are dominate and they are tutsis and the hutus.  Hutis are dominate in one and persecute the Tusis.  The Tutsis are dominate in other one and they persecute the Tutsis.  Tutsis led almost constant war between the groups.  The U.S and Switzerland have peacefully merged multiple ethnic groups in their countries. Roman killed Christianity because they could.

Cultural Geography

We went over a power point today called Cultural Geography.  We learned about language and ethnicity. ( we didnt get to religion yet.  We learned that Canada has two major french and English.  I don't remember where in Canada it was but, they wanted to become a new country because they want not be more french then English.  We also learned that Switzerland has 4 major languages.  But surprisingly enough, they manage well together and with very little conflict.  English is language for the word.

Power point

Our group of the presentations was terrible.  There was some many mistakes on it it was embarrassing.  All we had to do is look up one or two questions and give the answers to Nick.  Some people didnt look it up and just winged it witch is unacceptable.

Christopher Columbus

To begin class, we got back our test.  I honestly forgot that we had a test.  That was my fault for not beginning ready for the test.  I should have studied and should have done my blogs right.  Anyway, we went into our next topic.  We have Christopher Columbus.  I answered my question I had to do and sent it to Nick.  I guess you will see our progress tomorrow in class.

I think Red Cross is a legit fundraiser. They mission statement is "The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors."  It is basically a group of volenters that help everyone. It is very easy to help and will help the Sudan people making money.

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Our plan

One Foundation that our group got together were Red Cross.  Red Cross mission is connect people from all over the world together.  A reason they might help if so a mother had to go to America and never came back, they would bring the whole family back to America.  They Also help with blood issues.  Anther foundation we used was The lost boys foundation of Nashville.  This helps with the Sudan people getting jobs in America.

Monday, October 1, 2012

the end of the movie

At the end of the movie all the men had jobs and making money for the people still in Sudan.  By the way, I just friend request John Bul on Facebook.  But anyways,  John Bul is the president of the John Dau foundation (his foundation) for raising money for his people still in Africa.  He has become very successful in America and made a huge difference to his people in Africa.

CLASSSSSSSSSSS

In class we took a test on what we have done so far.  I didn't study that much but for the most part it wasn't that difficult.  I stated remembering thing as the test went on .  The hardest part of the test was the country matching exercise.

hi

In class today we went over the rest of the peoples presentations that didn’t go in the last two days oh class.  We went and our country was the United States of America.  Our presentation was really fast because we didn’t have much time left in class.  This project was fun and very simple.  I like projects are short and sweet.  I really like this class and look forward to having class on Monday.

In class yesterday, we went over some people presentations.  We didn't go over mine but the ones that went yesterday weren't really good.  I really enjoyed Nigeria because Matt C did a really good job on presenting it.  He explained it really well and got help from the people in there group at there seats.  I cant wait to show u mine.

class

In class today we started our presentation thing today.  Our country is the United States of America.  I am the person that is setting the whole thing up.  I am the presentationer.  I am not really sure if we are supposed to do this blog but I’m doing it anyway!  I was really tired today for some reason, of course it is Wednesday tomorrowL.  That is my worst day.

SLIDES

In class today, we went over a boring power point (no offence).  It was about mainly rate!  Everything had to do with rate.  I didn’t realize that the population of the U.S is increasing rapidly.  If the number of people gets too high it could be really bad!  We (meaning the U.S) will run out of water and food and everything.  I hope they make a rule about how many kids you can have.  Everyone should only have only 2 babies each.  The U.S needs to get a hold of it before it gets really bad.  That’s  what I believe in.

gunman drill

Today in class we started off talking about if there was a gunman in our school and how we would evacuate.  We changed how to do that today.  Know instead of going to the benches with our addvisor  we go to the football field, parking lot, or somewhere else i cant remember.  We would rather be safe than sorry to do a drill ahead of time.  Than at the end of class, we went over the video and how technology is growing. That was my class of human geo.

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

class and video

In class as I told you in the other blog we finished the questions.  We talk about what question were the most important to us.  It wasn't a right or wrong answer it was your opinion.  That video was so spectacular. It really touch on how much the world has grown in everything in the last years.  I thought that the thing where it was saying while watching this video 67 baby's were born in the U.S and it went on and on with countries increasing.  I thought that the facebook number were rediculus.  50 million users in a year wow!

Taking Notes

Taking notes is a very important tool to know.  If you can take notes you can be successful anywhere!  I'm glad you are teaching us how to take notes.  In college there will be hundred of students in a lecher hall where for an hour they talk straight for an hour.  It's very difficult to pass a class id you can't take good notes.  There are certain tactics to taking notes the right way.  Thank you for teaching us the right way to take notes!

Class

Today in class, we learned how to prove if the resource we use are legit or not.  My websites may look real but they aren't.  You have to go look at the website very fluently.  If you do at ten page on the ancient Greeks and the website isn't legit than you will fail.  But if you look fluently for a real website then you will get a better grade. A way you can tell if it is real, you can look if it was .gov.  Most of the time .gov is real.  Mr. Schick  http://schickhumangeo.blogspot.com/ is not a good website to use as research.

essay 3

My five point action plan would have to start with getting comfortable with everyone around me and with the teachers. After that is done, I need to get organized!  If I'm not organized will be very cranky and not be able to concentrate.  The third thing i will have to do is no procrastination.  I really don't tend to do that but, if i start then it will not be a very good year.  My forth thing has to be realize school is more important then sports.  And last but not least is not commit stupid mistakes because one stupid mistake may become anther and another mistake.  That is my five point plan to survive my four years at John Carroll School.

essay 2

If Elbert Hubbard and Socrates time traveled back to the present i think the would believe how technological everything was.  I think they would be excited  at  first but later realize everywhere and everything relied on electricity.  So when they went back they would be so upset to not be able to use everything we use.  I think they wold think we were become very lazy.  I think for the most part they would be very disappointed in us and think it just going to get worst.

essay 1

To me arete means excellence always.  Arete was used as excellence in ancient Greece.  When u were considered an arete you had the vultures of making a good character.  Socrates and the ancient Greeks showed show this quality by being at the best at being Athenian philosopher.  The ancient Greeks were good at being landowners.

In class on Friday, we went over all of the vocabulary on ancient Greece.  ArĂȘte is the making of a good character.  Polis is a city state in Greece.  Socrates was a  Athenian philosopher. Socrates died by getting poisoned by hemlock.  The Socratic Method was teaching students by asking question after question.  The date 508 B.C was when the Cleisthenes grated full right to the free men of Athens.  Agora was the main spot in ancient Greece.  When the ancient Greeks called you an idiot it wasn't the same as if they called you it now.

...

In class what we did was helping the new students.  Matt had no clue how to do anything!!  So my and Jake had to take over, and help Matt.  All he had to do was make a Gmail, make a blogger and that's it.  Matt some how made some trouble.  Honesty this going to be the boring blog ever from me.  We didn't do much today at all.  My favorite part was eating a donut.  Well why did we get more people in our class??  Can you tell me in class.  We don't have class tomorrow :(.  Okay well that's how our class went today.  Okay so bye.

class

A message to Garcia for me was very different and hard to understand.  It was about the letter to Garcia.  At first i was like umm what in the world is this.  It was about the Spanish american war, it was main about the cuba people tring to gain there freedom.  I  thought the lines that spoke to me today were "The survival of the fittest and "Culling the Herd".  It really explains life in a new way!  It is saying who ever is t sharpest  will be successful or ever survive longer.  It really made he thing!  Culling the herd is what weeds out the less able.  I really enjoyed this class and can't wait for the next class

Ravens

Today in human geography, first we got our assigned seats.  Then We went over the syllabus.  Which is the one thing you should read first to be successful in this class.  It has everything from what we need for every class to the grading system.  At first when Mr.Schick said the blog will be worth two point and eight point a week I was like, the guy is terrible at math we have five days a week wouldn't it be ten point a week not eight.  Then when i got home i found out we only have class four times a week.  That is how my first human geography went.

John Carroll- Daniel Bonsack

My day at John Carroll was very exciting but, also frightening! I was so excited to see my friends i knew but, also looking forward to meeting new people.  I was frightened because it was my first day of high school! I knew I was going to be fine but, there was always a doubt in my mind I was going to something wrong.  I found at least one person in each class that i knew which is a good thing! I met a lot of new people today, and that's all I could ask for.  Today was really overwhelming but, I really hope I can remember most of things everyone has told me today.  I'm so excited for high school and hope I can do my best because this is where it all starts to matter for my future. I thank John Carroll school for excepting me into your school and making me welcome.
