   Our class was fantastic today October 23, 2012.  We wend over what was going to be the test.  Which is the slide show thing and the religion thing.  Then Matt was calling me "catfish".  Honestly do you think I look like a catfish?  But anyways we learned about shark boy.  He got bit by a shark at the age of four which is really scary.

I hate the texans

  In class we went over the the religions we had for a homework assignment.  Franco was help us understand it better becaus ethat what he just did in religion.  He did know his stuff really well, I was kind of inpreessed because at one point I had no idea what he was talking about. But anyways, Franco was a cool cat, and did not look like me (which everyone thought I looked like him).

    Today in class we went over the project that we had to do over the weekend.  We went over in class how Muslims and Christians live they lives over the world.  The Muslims live a live that is very protective.  Girls wear clothes that cover everything but there eyes because they want to guy to like the girl wants the guy to the girl to love her for her personality.

ethnic Heritage

  In class we went over a few more slides to the power point.  Strong leadership died out the different group fought a very bloody civil war and how they all have separate countries. Rwonda and Burundi in Africa have two ethnic groups that are dominate and they are tutsis and the hutus.  Hutis are dominate in one and persecute the Tusis.  The Tutsis are dominate in other one and they persecute the Tutsis.  Tutsis led almost constant war between the groups.  The U.S and Switzerland have peacefully merged multiple ethnic groups in their countries. Roman killed Christianity because they could.

The Religions

Christians geographical concentration

  This paper is going over Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism. Christianity was founded around 30 AD and first century in Palestine by the disciples. Christianity is a monotheistic religion. Christianity has the bible. Christianity has 2+ followers in its religion. Christianity’s center figure is Jesus Christ.  Islam was founded in the 7^th century AD. Islam is monotheistic a religion. Islam’s holy book is called the Qur'an. .Islam has 1.4 to 1.67 billion followers. Islam’s center figure is Allah, which is "God" in Arabic

.  Buddhism was founded in approximately 460 B.C. It was founded by a prince named Siddhartha Gautama.  Buddhism is neither monotheistic nor polytheistic.  Buddhism does not depend on the existence of a God who created the universe. The sacred book of Buddhism is called the Tipitaka.  Buddhists that are in the world is between 230 million and 500 million making it the world's fourth-largest religion.  The number of Buddhists per capita is, appropriately, in Tibet..  Hinduism was founded in 1500-500 BCE and this era of Hinduism is known as historic Vedic Hindu religion, while modern Hinduism started from 1700-1100BCE.  Hinduism has given much freedom to people in worship.  Hinduism says God has as many forms as there are trees, animals, etc.  The main Hindu scriptures are the Vedas.  Number of followers may range anywhere between 860 million to 1.4 billion.  Hindu is a geographical definition used for the people living beyond the river Indus or those living in India. Judaism was founded by Abraham, Isaac and Jacob about 3800 years ago. Judaism is monotheistic.  The Torah is the most holy book of Judaism.  There are between 12-14 million known Jews throughout the world today.  Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel are called the Patriarchs they are the center figures for Judaism.  The geographical concentration for Judaism is 6,500,000 Jews in the U.S.. 

Cultural Geography

We went over a power point today called Cultural Geography.  We learned about language and ethnicity. ( we didnt get to religion yet.  We learned that Canada has two major french and English.  I don't remember where in Canada it was but, they wanted to become a new country because they want not be more french then English.  We also learned that Switzerland has 4 major languages.  But surprisingly enough, they manage well together and with very little conflict.  English is language for the word.

Power point

Our group of the presentations was terrible.  There was some many mistakes on it it was embarrassing.  All we had to do is look up one or two questions and give the answers to Nick.  Some people didnt look it up and just winged it witch is unacceptable. 

Christopher Columbus

    To begin class, we got back our test.  I honestly forgot that we had a test.  That was my fault for not beginning ready for the test.  I should have studied and should have done my blogs right.  Anyway, we went into our next topic.  We have Christopher Columbus.  I answered my question I had to do and sent it to Nick.  I guess you will see our progress tomorrow in class.

test

   The test would have been easy if i was doing my blogs right.  I didn't have like any notes on my blog like I was told to.  I now know DO YOUR BLOG HOW YOUR TOLD!  I will make it easier in the long run.  I was stupid not to do it correctly but, i know now you never know when something will pop out like this.

claaaaasssssssss

        I think Red Cross is a legit fundraiser. They mission statement is "The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors."  It is basically a group of volenters that help everyone. It is very easy to help and will help the Sudan people making money.

Our plan

    One Foundation that our group got together were Red Cross.  Red Cross mission is connect people from all over the world together.  A reason they might help if so a mother had to go to America and never came back, they would bring the whole family back to America.  They Also help with blood issues.  Anther foundation we used was The lost boys foundation of Nashville.  This helps with the Sudan people getting jobs in America.

the end of the movie

    At the end of the movie all the men had jobs and making money for the people still in Sudan.  By the way, I just friend request John Bul on Facebook.  But anyways,  John Bul is the president of the John Dau foundation (his foundation) for raising money for his people still in Africa.  He has become very successful in America and made a huge difference to his people in Africa.
